pin broke off in dc plug

the male part of the dc power plug broke off in my laptop any suggestions on getting the pin out

In my experience tweezers and pliers work the best- just wiggle it around and stuff, not very difficult. The unfortunate part however, is that the female end may be or become damaged.

Remove the battery, then try to use a pair of tweezers to pull the plug out, or see if you can use superglue and glue a screwdriver to the plug and pull it out. If that doesn't work, then you will have to place the DC-In Board.

It's not easy to remove the DC-in from a PowerBook, but if you do take it out, it's possible to straighten out a paperclip and use it to push the broken pin out of the plug from the inside. This is most effective with iBook DC-ins, especially because iBook DC-ins aren't nearly as hard to get out of the laptop. Once the DC-in is out, it's generally possible to get the paperclip in there from behind and push the pin out.
