Can anyone please help me identify the component in the picture?

My board is missing this component and the backlight is dark. I hope this is the problem!

Hi, your best bet is to find the schematics for this mac. What year and model is this mac and i might be able to help?

The device is always listed to the right of the question. in this case, the device is a iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2544 (iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2544)

ok, after doing some final looking. i have determined that the missing part you are describing is a 250 ohm resistor named as L9100 on the schematics and boardview

Cwoodyard a designator starting with "L" is never a resistor. Inductors carry the "L" descriptor.

J.R. Asprelli  that is reference designator L9100 which is a 250ohm ferrite bead. You can get the package size by measuring the distance from one point to the other.

Yes, you will need this to get your display to work. There should only be 12 Volt on that rail, so make sure you have no short anywhere else.
