This answer is probably years late, but...

The quick answer is no. These headphones use an integrated control module (the part with the lights & controls) that houses the battery. While other Bose headphones are designed to allow removal & replacement of the battery, with the AE2w, you must arrange through Bose to replace the entire control module.

Sorry, I don’t like it either!

We can completely do this by ourselves, the problem I had with my bose ae2w bluetooth module was that it wouldn't charge and it wouldn't turn on. Whenever I would plug in my charger it would turn on the green light.

We can open the bluetooth module by unscrewing the four screws in the back. These are called y-screws or tri wring screws. We can unscrew these with a 0.6mm tri wring screwdriver. We have to be careful while opening it as there are wires attached and also the board is small and thin, so please be careful.

Best of luck

you can change it by yourself, but you need to solder the battery, so it is a little hard. I note someone is offering replacement battery for this headphone Bose AE2w BA1 headphone battery AHB581323PA
