Week wifi connection after battery replacement

I replaced my iPhone 6 battery a month or so ago, and ever since then my phone has been having trouble picking up wifi unless I'm very close (about 10 feet) away from the router.

The wifi is not greyed out.

I've also noticed some poor Bluetooth connectivity when I'm playing music in my car and so location issues with my Maps GPS since the battery replacement, but I don't know if these issues are related

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have the exact same issue!

The Apple Store replaced my iPhone 6 battery and now I have to be in front of my modem to receive a signal. None of our other devices have this problem so it must have been damaged during the replacement.

Sounds like you are having one of two issues. The first, and probabaly not likely is that the wifi antenna got unplugged or is failing. The second and more likely thing is that the wifi/Bluetooth chip on your motherboard is loosing its connection causing you to have a weak signal. In order to do this repair, you will have to micro solder a new chip onto your motherboard. Not the easiest of repairs that's for sure, but can be done.

I find out sometimes that the L shaped antenna cable that plugs into the top left of the logic board can go bad like hard drive cables in a unibody MacBook.

Sometimes it's just screws needed to be taken in and out for the wifi antenna stuff.

I doubt the battery replacement caused this issue. It seems more of a coincidence that it happpened near the same time as the repair.

Well I had the same coincidence! My WiFi worked just fine until Apple replaced my battery!

I have same thing happen, Genius Bar respond me battery is not related to wifi antenna and they can’t replace it. They suggested me to replace phone on $439.

Don’t know what to do?

You probably need a new wifi antenna. It is a common issue. Sometime it could be that it got unplugged

I had/have this same problem and after tearing into the phone to investigate, found that I had accidentally broken the wifi/bluetooth antenna connector (the S-curve piece that connects the antenna to the logic board). I imagine this is an easy accident to occur during a battery change, especially if the adhesive doesn’t off easily.

Next day after 6s battery replacement wifi down load at 0.7 mbps says a speed checking website. Data via sim is 150mbs and wifi modem says should be above 40mbs.

Go to Genius Bar and argue with them otherwise lodge the complaint formally and deal with them. I got new replaced phone on free, after fighting back for 2months.
