Nano Shuffles itself after being dropped!

History

So my brother tried to change a song in my iPod one day and he dropped it from a short height of probably four feet. Ever since then, my iPod shuffles itself and does not stay on one song, even if I don't move it or touch it. The only time it doesn't do that is when I use the Hold button, and when I do that it freezes! When I try to reset it, it takes ages to reload and even if I reset it still malfunctions.

It sounds like the accelerometer in your nano's damaged due to the fall. Have an Apple Service Technician take a look at it.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can easily replace this part.
