Capacitive buttons not working?

I've had my HTC One X for a while and recently the capacitive buttons on screen have stopped working and I don't know what to do. I read that replacing the screen might solve the problem, but after looking at the process for that I'm not sure that I can attempt that repair, are there any other options or solutions?

Answer this question I have this problem too

There are. The first thing you should do is ensure that your software is updated, as this can sometimes solve the problem. Otherwise, you can go to https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai..., and download what amounts to a patch. So long as the rest of your screen is working, it creates virtual buttons on top of where the capacitive buttons usually are. If this doesn't solve the problem, you may have to consider replacing the screen.

I had the same problem and this page just helped me! http://www.technobezz.com/solve-unrespon...

Just go the settings > Language & Keyboard > HTC Sense Input > Advanced > Calibration tool, and calibrate your touch screen. Mine has been fixed. =)
