I have a 2009 13"macbook air and mid 2011 macbook air ...

Can I switch the screens as the newer one has colored line runing through the screen ... using it as a server for now... but not for too much longer

Hi Justin,

Unfortunately that is not possible. Apple changed the design between the two displays and their connectors.

You can however buy a replacement in the iFixit store.
