need to replace sim card reader

Hi guys I need to replace a sim card reader in the Sony Xperia U. Its a common problem that I want to fix myself. I know i can get a sim card reader online but i just need know how to replace its sim card reader. Many thanks.

Gareth McStravick, you will have to disassemble your phone right down to the logic board. Then remove the EMI shield from the top of the SIM card reader and un-solder it from the board. Replace it with a new reader....Now if you go to the bottom of this page, below the heading Documents, you will find the service manual. Hope this helps, good luck.
