How do I remove lines at the bottom of my laptop screen

There is line at the bottom of my laptop screen and now getting worse and making my screen un readable.

How do I solve this problem.

kenny, we can't see what you see, but it does sound like a bad LCD Panel. It would help if you post an image of your screen with your question.

Hi kenny,

As oldturkey03 already mentioned, the issue might be related to a bad/dying LCD screen.

In order to figure out if it is indeed the screen or the video chip on your motherboard (as Tyler suggested), I recommend connecting your laptop to an external monitor via a VGA cable and the VGA port of your laptop.

If there are no lines on this external screen and everything else is readable and appears to be projected normal, it is the LCD you might want to replace. In case that there are still lines on the external screen, the video chip seems to be defective. I would just check it out.

Here are some options for new LCD's for a HP DV6000, in case this testing shows that the screen is defective.

It could also be a video card issue if you have one with the nVidia video card. If I remember correctly, these laptops were among those that had issues.

there might be a problem in the connection between the mother board and the screen. so its basically just a hardware issue andnot because of any virus.
