iPod reverts to home screen when I open my gmail! Why?
Each time I try to open my gmail account on Safari, Safari shuts down and I am left with my home screen. What is the problem likely to be?

Couple of things you want to try. First try to restart your iPod. Hold down the sleep/wake button on top until it prompts you to slide the button on the screen to shut down. Give it a few seconds, then push the sleep/wake button again to turn the iPod back on. you also want to clear cache and cookies:
Clear & Disable Autofill: Settings > Safari > Autofill > Clear All and then turn everything to “OFF”
Clear Safari history and cookies: Tap on Settings > Safari > Clear History, Clear Cookies and Data
Clear Safari stored data: Tap Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data
