Handheld sound not working ONLY on outgoing/incoming calls

I know this question has somewhat been asked before, but my problem is slightly different.

I cannot hear any phone calls unless it is set to speaker phone or I plug headphones in.

Sound still works for everything. Music, games, videos, even voice recording. In every forum no sound at all is working without being on speaker or having headphones plugged in.

I know of the iPhone thinking the headphone jack is plugged in which causes no sound to work unless on speaker. I have cleaned it out and tried plugging my headphones in to fix it but still nothing.

Is there another problem with my phone? Or another method I could try? I've reset, factory restored, reset network connections, & cleaned out and tried plugging headphone jack in multiple times. But nothing has worked.

I am not very technical so opening up the phone will be completely beyond me.

Thank you for any help or suggestions

Replace the dock connector/mic assembly in the bottom of the phone. This mic works on calls when the phone is against your ear.
