Upgrade to macOS 10.13 or later, prior to Aura Pro X2 installation. MacOS 10.13 and later versions include an EFI (firmware) update that adds support for the Aura Pro X to the host computer. If you do not first update the host firmware by installing macOS 10.13 or later onto the existing SSD, the Aura Pro X will not function properly once installed.

The enclosure has been specifically designed for use with most factory installed SSDs in the Mac models listed in compatibility.

Apple NVMe SSDs, and AHCI SSDs made by Samsung (models from 2015 or later), while physically compatible with the enclosure are not supported.

Do not attempt to install or use an OWC Aura Pro X2 SSD as external storage in this enclosure. This may damage the Aura drive, the enclosure, or both.
