My Problem

Battery was getting old and rear glass panel was broken

My Fix

Everything went well, I repaired my phone in less than 10 minutes

My Advice

No advice needed as long as you follow the video it's all VERY EASY!

My Problem

My phone was always well taken care of, my wife on the other hand goes through smart phones very often, I made the mistake of letting her handle it for a FEW MINUTES and that was the end of my screen. She dropped it on concrete flat on the front panel and it landed on a pebble that caused a spider crack on the whole front(see pics) luckily I knew about ifixit I had previously changed the battery so I figured why not try the screen!

My Fix

Ok so the repair time is estimated at 1 hr but if you are doing his for the first time be prepared to spend anywhere from 2 to 4 or even 5 hours if you are like me and made little mistakes along the way as a tiny misplaced or displaced item can have you backtracking and pulling everything apart again.

My Advice

Separate and label everything it is the biggest time saver and headache preventer. I did it as a spur of the moment thing after getting my package and I was maybe 75% organized and it took me about 3 hours. I made my iphone go from black to white for a change of scenery and voila it's just like new again. Thanks you guys at iFixit you guys rock.

My Problem

I had removed my protective case from my iPhone and dropped it. It shattered. I ordered a new rear panel from another company which took forever to receive. Upon the first try of installing it, the new panel cracked. I ordered a new one from IFIXIT. It arrived quickly.

My Fix

I placed the new part onto the back of the phone, and installed it upon the first try. I was very relieved.

It was not difficult at all, and I am a senior citizen being a 75 years old female.

My Advice

My advice only order from this site.

My Problem

I dropped my iPhone when I removed my case. It shattered.

My Fix

The repair was easy. The replacement fit exactly as it should. Thanks for having the part for me.

My Advice

Yes. Don't buy from part from anywhere but here. I bought another cheaper back, and it cracked while I was trying to get it to fit which it never did.

My Problem

Still a useful phone, iPhone 4. Just busted glass on the back.

My Fix

Easily repaired.

My Advice

Just do it.

My Problem

My daugther broke the rear panel of her iPhone 4.

My Fix

2 screws, slide the back, replace and done... 2 minutes. And quality of the rear panel is perfect (she complains that the logo is not there anymore but otherwise she was happy :-))

My Advice

Warn people that the logo is not on the rear panel (but except that everything is perfect and Ifixit is a real great site)

My Problem

Iphone 4S smashed front and back; dropped in the locker room.

My Fix

Went pretty well, took longer than I expected. Had to go backwards a bit because cable ribbons from new display were tricky to route without crimping. And the corner screw by the earphone jack took a lot of patience.

My Advice

Be super careful when mounting the new display that the cables come through straight and clean or there won't be enough slack to plug them in!

Was so happy to see the apple after the procedure!

And the white button is an unexpected trophy: proof that it's been rebuilt.

My Problem

The rear cover was shattered

My Fix

Everything went pretty smooth at the start. The pentalobe screwdriver worked awesomely, even though the screws were a little stripped.

The ifixit back cover is really nice.

When I tried to slip it into position, it just wouldn't come down all the way. I tried several times until I gave up and installed the old shattered cover.

A few hours later I tried again without success. I just left it on the table and after 15 minutes, my wife come with the cover perfectly in place!

She told me she pushed the new cover with the table... I'm really glad she did it, even though I didn't know how she really did.

My Advice

The new cover needs more force to get into place than the original... just be sure not to damage it.

My Problem

The back glass was broken and mostly gone.

My Fix

It was quick and easy.

My Advice

Don't loose the little screws.

My Problem

Battery drain immediately. Apple recall these models, but unfortunately my iPhone was not eligible.

My Fix

I'm very satisfied with iFixit way to pack and send parts and tools for me.

I took less then 15 min to replace the battery and now iPhone works good and not any battery problem exist anymore.

My Advice

Be careful when you detaching screen from the body. Improperly applied power can damage thin cables for front camera and speakers.
