The 2015 model New Nintendo 3DS XL portable game console is originally equipped with a TN (Twisted Nematic) LCD. This replacement IPS (In-Plane Switching) LCD has a larger viewable angle than a TN LCD, but a bit lower luminance. If you replace only your upper display, you may notice the replacement screen does not look as bright.
