iFixit is an official Steam Deck partner. Our Genuine Steam Deck parts are supplied by the official Steam Deck supply chain.
This heat sink only fits the early "Original" version of the Steam Deck. Before ordering a replacement heat sink you must determine if you have an early "Original" or late "Refreshed" model Steam Deck. This can be determined by removing the back cover or by searching in settings on your device.
- Remove the back cover of your Steam Deck to determine if you have an early "Original" or late "Refreshed" version. Follow the directions in the first 4 steps of the fan replacement guide linked below. An early "Original" version Steam Deck will have a fan with square sides matching the guide photo. A late "Refreshed" version Steam Deck will have a very different looking fan with curved sides.
- Search in settings on your device to determine if you have an early "Original" or late "Refreshed" version. Go to Steam > Settings > System. Scroll down to the Hardware section and click the Model/Serial Numbers button. Find your fan supplier and part number. "Delta BSB0505LA-00G8R" or "Taicang Huaying Electronic Materials Co. BN5010S5H-N00P" indicates you have an early "Original" version Steam Deck. This replacement heat sink will fit. "Delta BSB0512MA-00JAK" or "Taicang Huaying Electronic Materials Co. BO5510S2H-000P" indicates you have a late "Refreshed" version Steam Deck. This replacement heat sink will not fit.
