Ridgid Generator RD908000S Unable to Start
If the generator is unable to start properly, follow the sections below.
Check Battery
- The battery may not be up to par, so make sure it is not drained.
- Check if battery has corrosion.
- If battery has any issues, replace battery swiftly.
Check the Tank
- Open tank and search for rust or other imperfections.
- If tank has rust, use a strong cleaner to remove said rust.
Change Oil
- If oil is soiled, the generator will likely not be able to run sufficiently.
Check Gas Line
- Open the fuel line to check for any clogs.
- It there is a clog, get rid of the excess fuel in the fuel line.
Check Engine Spring
- Check engine spring to make sure there is adequate tension.
- If not, the spring will likely need to be replaced.
Check Hour Meter
- If the hour meter is too high, the generator might be too old to work sufficiently.
Check Air Filter
- If air filter has overwhelming build up, the filter may need to be replaced.
Check Carburetor
- Clean carburetor if there is buildup.
Relay
- Make sure the wires inside the relay are connected.
Wires
- Look for wires that may be out of place or not properly connected.
- If wires are disconnected, connect accordingly.
Check for Corrosion
- If there is corrosion on a part of the generator, that part may need replacing or precise cleaning.
