RCA Lyra X2400 Troubleshooting

My Lyra Won't Turn on ¶ 

When the power switch is turned on, the device displays no indication of functionality.

Battery Problems ¶ 

Your problem may be battery related.

Drained Battery ¶ 

Diagnosis:

To diagnose a discharged battery, simply plug your device into a 120v wall socket using the power adapter that came with it. If the charging light turns on, your battery may have been discharged.

Solution:

Try plugging your Lyra in for 20-30 min and attempt to turn the device on again.

Note: if the charging indicator light does not turn on while the device in plugged in, the problem may lie in either the power adapter, or the power plug in the side of the device. If this is the case, read this guide about how to safely remove the motherboard from the Lyra and install a new one.

Dead Battery ¶ 

Diagnosis:

Even after attempts have been made to charge the device, the battery stays uncharged.

Display Problems ¶ 

Diagnosis:

Your Lyra may appear to be nonfunctional if the display has become disconnected or broken.

If the display is truly nonfunctional, it may need to be replaced completely. Motherboard Problems ¶ 

Diagnosis:

If your device still will not turn on, you may have a problem with the motherboard.

Solution:

When I Try to Play Audio or Video Files, my Lyra Makes No Sound ¶ 

When viewing audio or video media on the device, no sound can be heard from the built in speaker.

Volume Controls ¶ 

Diagnosis:

You may have the volume on your Lyra turned down or muted. Many times this can be diagnosed by toggling the volume up/down button located on the side of your device.

Solution:

To fix this, review and adjust your volume settings using the onscreen system menu.

Motherboard Problems ¶ 

Diagnosis:

The motherboard in your Lyra may be broken or functioning incorrectly. If you have ruled out other solutions, this may be the issue.

External Headphones/Speakers Problems ¶ 

Diagnosis:

If you are using external headphones/speakers and this problem occurs, there may be a problem with the audio output on your device. If the sound functions correctly on your device when the headphones/speakers are not connected, but abruptly stops working when the headphones/speakers are plugged into the device, you may need to replace the audio output jack.

I Can't Record Sounds With my Lyra ¶ 

When working with an application that requires use of the built in microphone, the recordings are either inaudible or unable to be understood.

It may be that the small opening in the plastic body of the Lyra for the microphone has become somehow obstructed. You may be able to see this by looking closely at the small hole in the top of the device labeled "mic."

The Screen on my Lyra is Discolored ¶
