This page will help you diagnose and solve problems with the Motorola Moto G4.
Audio Distortion ¶
The audio coming from the phone’s external speakers sounds distorted .
Speaker Crackles ¶
If the external speaker makes a crackling sound you will want to check to see if the issue is with the earpiece first. To do so enable the USB Debugging option in settings. After doing so dial *#*#2486#*#* and follow the steps accordingly to conduct the test. If the quality is fine, there might be some blockage from dust. If the app says that the speakers are corrupt, you might need to buy a new phone because the earpiece might be faulty. You can check that here.
Bluetooth Connectivity ¶
The Bluetooth from the phone won’t connect to other devices.
Bluetooth Recognition ¶
If the phone won’t recognize other devices, you might want to try to unpair the devices and then pair them again. An alternate solution is to turn the phone on and off to see if it will recognize the Bluetooth. Test the connectivity on the other device by making sure its “discover” feature is turned on.
LED Display ¶
The LED notification light does not blink when there is a notification.
LED Notification Doesn’t Flash ¶
Download the “Notification Light Widget” from the Google Play Store. Put the widget on the home screen and dial it on. The notification light should turn on now. You can remove the widget when the process is done.
Issues such that happen to the hardware of the phone.
If the phone reaches about 100 degrees Fahrenheit it will automatically power off. You should restart your phone by pressing power button for 10 seconds. If that doesn’t work you can clear your cache, this option is found under settings. Finally, you can reboot the phone in safe mode. Learn more about that here.
Rattling Noise With Vibration ¶
If you hear a rattling noise when the phone vibrates, you’ll want to go to Settings then to Sounds, then Keys, and Turn of the Vibrate on Touch setting. Learn more about that here. You can also but protective cases that will stop the rattling.
Doesn’t Read the SIM Card ¶
If the SIM reader doesn’t read the SIM card you can replace the SIM card with a microSIM card or you can replace SIM card with another working SIM card. Other options are rebooting the device, and checking for a custom ROM.
Lock Button Doesn’t Push In ¶
If the lock button doesn’t push in, you can try rebooting the phone. Learn more about that here.
