Magellan RoadMate 1200 Troubleshooting

RoadMate won't turn on ¶ 

"The screen is black and/or not turning on."

Battery Issues ¶ 

Your battery may be discharged. Plug your RoadMate into your computer using a mini-USB cable and then try turning on the device. If that works, you will have to wait about 30 minutes until the battery is fully charged.

Screen Issues ¶ 

The screen may be disconnected, see our guide for repairing the screen. (link coming)

Screen is stuck on white ¶ 

"The device turns on, but the screen only shows solid white."

Screen Issues ¶ 

The screen may not be seated properly (link coming). When an LCD screen is receiving power, but no signal, it defaults to white.

Firmware Missing ¶ 

The firmware for the GPS may have been wiped. You will need to send the device back to Magellan in order to get it back.

RoadMate won't connect to computer ¶ 

"The software cannot communicate with the GPS"

USB problems ¶ 

The USB cable may be damaged. Try using another cable. If that doesn't work, the USB terminal may have come loose.

Firmware Missing ¶ 

The firmware for the GPS may have been wiped. You will have to send the device back to Magellan in order to fix it.
