Lenovo 100e Chromebook Gen 4 Screen is Frozen or Unresponsive to Touch

The Chromebook's screen does not respond to the keyboard, touchpad, or touch.

Power off the device.
Wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove any dust or dirt.
If a microfiber cloth alone won't clean the screen, use a small amount of distilled water on the microfiber cloth.

Perform a hard reset.
1. Hold down the Refresh key.
2. Hold down the Power button as well for 10 seconds.
Remains frozen and unresponsive.
1. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds to force a shutdown.

Check for Chrome OS updates to make sure all features and apps are up to date.
1. Go to settings.
2. Click About Chrome OS.
3. Check for updates.
Perform a hardware reset.
1. Turn off the Chromebook.
2. Hold down the Refresh key.
3. Press the Power button while continuing to hold down the Refresh key.
If these don't work, reseat the LCD/Digitizer ribbon cable.
1. Power off Chromebook.
2. Take it apart and find the LCD/Digitizer ribbon cable.
3. If it is damaged it will need to be replaced.
4. Otherwise, reconnect it.
If all else fails, a Powerwash may be needed to reset the whole system.
1. Back up any files you wish to keep.
2. Sign out of the device.
3. Press the keys Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R together on the login screen.
