This can be due to a circuitry problem.

Find where on the monitor the dead pixels are. Turn off the monitor andgently massage the screen at that spot. Then turn the monitor back on to see if there is any change.

Unfortunately, this VGA port is not supported by Mac Computers. This problem can be solved by using a VGA to Mac display adaptor.

Make sure that the brightness setting is not turned all the way down.
This looks like the backlight has died, but in reality, it is the inverter. This requires a replacement to be done. See our Repair Guide.
