This is the troubleshooting page for the Asus X54C-RB92.
Computer Dies Easily ¶
Computer will die after reaching a percentage higher than 0.
Faulty Battery ¶
If the computer turns off after disconnection of the adapter, the battery is most likely faulty. A reason for this may be due to the declined use of battery supporters. Despite the Li-on battery for the Asus computer, the battery is “self-discharge” and damages the battery memory.
To fix this:
a. remove Li-ion battery and directly use power supply to charge
b. Please remove all portable external devices, such as USB, memory card, internet cable, HDMI, and CD-ROM
c. expand partition of hard drive or memory
Faulty Adapter Cable ¶
If the adapter is plugged in and the computer still dies, this may indicate an adapter cable problem. To fix this:
a. Please check whether connector of adapter is loose or not
b. check whether there is any damage on adapter cable
Audibility issues ¶
No sound when audio is played through the computer or volume bar is frozen.
Asus X54C-RB92 has audibility issues where the device loses its function of controlling the speaker volume
Error in Device Manager ¶
Open Start, enter Device Manager, and select it from the list of results. Under Sound, video, and game controllers, select and open your sound card . Select the Driver tab, and select Update Driver. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, look for one on the ASUS website and follow the instructions.
If those steps didn't work, try uninstalling your audio driver : open Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) the audio driver, and select Uninstall. Restart your device and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
If that didn't work, try using the generic audio driver that comes with Windows as following: In Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) your audio driver > Update driver software... > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer, select High Definition Audio Device, select Next, and follow the instructions to install it.
Wrong Audio Enhancement Setting ¶
Go to Start, enter Sound, and select Sound Control Panel from the list of results.
On the Playback tab, right-click (or tap and hold) the Default Device and select Properties.
On the Enhancements tab, select the Disable all enhancements check box and try to play your audio device.
If that doesn't work, select Cancel and, on the Playback tab, select another default device (if you have one). Select the Disable all enhancements check box, and try to play audio again. Do this for each default device.
Lack of Wi-Fi connection ¶
Wi-Fi stopped working after the first update and could no longer use their device in public areas or at home.
Malfunctioning Wi-Fi Card ¶
To fix this:
Turn off your router for 1 minute and turn it back on.
