Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A30 Troubleshooting
This troubleshooting page will help you to identify issues with your Acer Iconia One 10 Tablet
- Unresponsive Screen
- Poor/No Wifi Connectivity
- Device Won't Power On
- Tablet Frequently Overheats
- Camera Problems
Unresponsive Screen ¶
Device screen fails to respond to touch.
Cracked screen ¶
Sometimes a device’s screen will no longer be responsive if it is too damaged. In this case, the entire screen will have to be replaced.
Pixelated Graphics ¶
If water damage or physical damage occurs, it can affect the touch screen digitizer. This in turn will create pixelated graphics and the screen will no longer be responsive. In this case, you would have to replace the screen.
Poor/No Wifi Connectivity ¶
Connectivity to WiFi is very poor or nonexistent
WiFi is not enabled or connected to the router ¶
Make sure the wifi capabilities are enabled by going to settings, and ensuring that the Wifi option is set to “on”. After this step, check if your device is connected to your router and if not, do so now.
Distance from the router is too great ¶
If the tablet is too far from the router, the signal will be weak and if this is the case, move the device closer to check if the connectivity improves. If it does not, then move on to the next step below.
WiFi chip/antenna is faulty ¶
If none of the above help address the problem, then the device will need it’s WiFi chip/antenna replaced, which means replacing the motherboard here.
Device Won't Power On ¶
When pressing the power button the tablet does not respond.
Charger doesn’t work properly ¶
If the device isn’t charging, this could actually be a charger problem and not the device. Make sure the charger you have chosen works and test it on other devices first in order to ensure it’s working properly. If the device will work while plugged in but turns off once unplugged the battery is faulty and needs to be replaced.
System is frozen ¶
With this device there is a known problem of it freezing when powered off. To see if this is the problem attempt to boot it into bios by holding the volume up and power button for 40 seconds. If the screen turns on simply exit the bios and windows will boot up.
Power button is dislodged/broken ¶
Once it is confirmed that the device is charged, hold down the power button for 3 seconds. If nothing happens the power switch may be faulty and needs to be replaced.
Motherboard is faulty ¶
If none of the above have resolved the issue, then your best bet will be replacing the motherboard completely which will be shown here.
Tablet Frequently Overheats ¶
The device becomes unusually hot and then shuts down.
Battery is faulty ¶
Over time batteries can become defective after heavy use or trauma. If the overheating occurs after using the tablet for long periods time consider replacing the battery. To find out how click here.
Motherboard is faulty ¶
If neither of the above posted solutions helped consider replacing the motherboard. If the motherboard is malfunctioning it can cause overheating issues by not properly distributing power. For a guide how to replace it click here.
Camera Problems ¶
Camera is flipped using certain apps or, is completely unresponsive.
Flipped camera ¶
If the camera is flipped using applications which specifically use the camera (Ex: Instagram, Snapchat). Try deleting and reinstalling the application, and try using the camera again.
Unresponsive Camera ¶
- Factory Reset.
- Turn the device off.
- Press and hold the Volume up button, and then press and hold the Power button.
- Release the Power button after 3 seconds.
- Release the Volume up button once the device powers on.
- Use the Volume up and down to navigate through the Android recovery menu.
- In the menu, select “Wipe Data/ Factory Reset”.
- Confirm the Factory Reset.
Once the device powers on, follow the instructions on your screen to set up your Tablet.
- Using the App Store to download a new camera app.
If you are still facing issues after resetting the device, you should try downloading another camera application on the Google Play Store.
