Acer Aspire One AO756-2623 Troubleshooting

Recurring Black Screen ¶ 

The laptop screen is black and doesn't appear to be on, or the laptop appears to be on but the screen is blank.

Update BIOS ¶ 

Download this file. Copy this file to a flash drive and insert into the USB port. Simultaneously press the Fn key, Esc key and power button until the power light comes on. The light should then start to blink. Let the laptop run from 1-7 minutes and the problem should be fixed.

Replace Screen ¶ 

Replace the screen using this guide.

Replace The Hard Drive ¶ 

Consider replacing the hard drive with a new one using this guide.

Random Restarting ¶ 

The laptop will power down in the middle of use. The laptop may or may not then turn back on.

Battery Is Not Charged Completely ¶ 

Plug the charging cord into the laptop charging port and then plug into the wall. Allow the laptop to charge for a few hours until it's fully charged.

Fan Is Not Working Properly ¶ 

Clean out the fan using this guide.

Replace The Battery ¶ 

Consider replacing the battery using this guide.

Overheating And Shut Down ¶ 

The laptop will get really hot and then shut down.

Dust In The Fan ¶ 

Clean out the fan using this guide.

Loud Grinding Noise ¶ 

There is a loud grinding or rattling noise even if the laptop appears to be functioning properly.

Battery Life Is Short ¶ 

The laptop appears to die quickly even after battery is charged fully.

Battery Needs Replacing ¶

Laptop Is Overheated ¶
