Hey there! My name's Jessica, and welcome to my Virtual Mess Lab!
I love to perform/read teardowns, and taught myself my own approach to fixing devices. I would love to help repair cars, but I don't think my methods are street-legal/safe...Then again, I've seen duct-taped bumpers…
I’m a Windows/Android person through and through, but I also support Mac OS/iOS, since it offers some features the former doesn’t have. For example, pairing USB drives as RAID? Only Macs can pretty much do it, and Windows? Well, that’s out of the question. I would use something other than an iPod for music, but unfortunately Apple seems to have dominated that category well, with reliable devices that can still run despite being at least 14 years old.
My first laptop I ever owned was an Acer Aspire AO722P netbook, running Windows 7 Home Premium. I loved that little thing, even though the CPU was garbage (1.0 on Windows Experience Index, for those who remember that), since it could do things that seemed impossible. It never gave me a BSOD, never froze up or crashed, and ran pretty damn hot. The fan was designed to take in air from underneath the keyboard, which was, of course blocked by the backplate keyboard. And thanks to the laws of thermodynamics, hot air rises, which meant that it was literally cooling itself using hot air. (It used an AMD C-60 with integrated Radeon HD 6290 GPU. The graphics were better than the entire machine itself.)
I’m also developing a little OS using batch scripting on Windows. I know, it’s not really a programming language, but hey, it’s the only one I know personally. When I started learning Arduino, I started forgetting it, and soon I realized I needed to re-memorize it before I forgot what ‘echo’ does.
I currently reside in Arlington, Virgina, a stone’s throw away from our “great” president known as Donald Trump. I don’t get involved that much in politics, but some days I wish I could Thanos-snap him out of existence. (Does that secretly happen in Infinity War/Endgame? I wonder…)
Feel free to ask me anything, although I can’t guarantee it’ll be answered, since I’m still learning myself! But before you ask, try restarting! Seriously, it could potentially solve your problem on your own! I can be contacted through here, or through my email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t you even dare try and spam me. I will block you.

Answer to "Need to purchase laptop screen from reliable source"Maybe try this?:https://www.ebay.com/itm/B156HTN03-3-LED-LCD-Screen-15-6-WUXGA-Laptop-Display-New-1080p-756412-3D1-/200756696436 It’s the best I could find that wasn’t out of stock. Good luck!
Answer to "How can I use ps4 pro slim from UK to US?"Get a step-up converter from 120v AC to at least 220V AC. If you can, try and get one with a circuit breaker or fuse, in case your machine draws too much. Also, maybe grab a US to UK adapter. Try this:https://www.amazon.com/Goldsource-STU-500-Voltage-Converter-Transformer/dp/B0022QOSDK/ref=sr_1_6?gcl...-9960312308&hydadcr=18919_9699009&keyword...-bin%3A2888021011&rnid=2887998011&s=elect...-6 Good Luck!
Answer to "Why won't the screen turn on?"Bad display connector? Have you tried plugging it into an external display?
Answer to "Plastic Strap Broke on Oculus"Duct tape, mates. The one thing that “holds the universe together” probably can hold this part together.
Answer to "Garbage screen after 5-10 minutes"Loose RAM cards? If you remove RAM while the system is running, and plug it back in, then it'll display garbage like that. (Accidently pulled out a RAM stick on a laptop. Never made that mistake again). Try reseating your RAM, and see if that fixes it. Or maybe get a different stick and see if boots fine. Good luck!
Answer to "Can I replace my top case with one from another region?"Depends on the keyboard style. If it’s with the upside down“l” style Enter keyboard, then make sure yours is the same. If the enter key is a bar, then get the bar.
Answer to "Switched hard drives. Now won't startup."If the drive you swapped was from another laptop, it won’t boot, since it has specific hardware requirements written in each OS. So when it detects the different hardware, it’ll refuse to boot. (I learned this the hard way.)
Answer to "Undetected Battery / Laptop won't turn on unless it's plugged in"Bad PMIC module? The motherboard PMIC charger/monitor probably needs to be replaced since you’ve tried different OS’s and batteries, and all showed failure. It would also explain the weird “255%” charge level.
Answer to "My tablet keeps flashing when it's put in its case but fine whn not in"Maybe the case is pressing the on-off button rapidly? What do you mean by “flashing”?
Answer to "Unit stops charging when powered"Maybe the power consumption is equal to the power being delivered by the charger? Try emptying the battery, charging with the laptop off, than seeing if the charge has increased.
