Answer to: Upgrade Hard drive on Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 13 (not pro)?Most Yoga 2 13 (non Pro) versions have a 2,5" HDD with a special SFF connector. The replacement cable to use a standard SATA drive (HDD or SSD) is very hard to obtain. Better you buy a SATA m.2 SSD 80mm (tested with Crucial m500 m550), as there is such a connector to put an extra type of storage device. Then you can leave the HDD inplace and use cheap extra storage. Or remove it to minimize energy use, heat and noise production. Do not buy a PCIe m.2 SSD, as this will not work.! Also the white list in the Yoga BIOS might reject other m.2 SSD brands, so better stick with the cheap Crucials....
Answer to: Are the memory chips soldered in?Watch the LenovoService Training Instructions link. In FRU videos | FRU Service: Thermal Fan Assembly you see a picture that shows soldered memory chips.
