Teardowns I've Worked On
Answer to: Help - found this part - not sure where it goesFYI, OSCON SVPC 39uF 16v on my Mac mini now. BTW, not all Mac mini 2012 uses the Sanyo OSCON capacitors. On my Mac mini, it come with the following caps I believe it is the PXF series 39uF 16v caps made by Nippon Chemi-Con. And usually NCC uses marking ink with cyan color, so why it has black ink marking on Mac? I think it has the same reason - custom made for Apple. (Also, you won't be able to the same spec on NCC's catalog)
Answer to: Help - found this part - not sure where it goesThe capacitor is the OS-CON (solid polymer conductive) SVPC series 39uF 16v made by Sanyo (now merged by Panasonic). Usually the OS-CON capacitor has marking with purple ink colour. On the Mac, I think those were custom made for Apple, hence with black ink. I have the exactly the same Mac mini Late 2012 with i7 2.6GHz as well, and I use OSCON SVPC 39uF 16v to replace/fix the factory one.
