Home button doesn't work - tried everything, help!Hi, I am trying to repair an iPhone 4 that a hack obviously tried first because the internals were held together by duct tape...
Answer to: don't find Motherboard for 4sI think the only place you can get a motherboard, if at all is Apple.
Answer to: Half of screen is Blue/BlackLooks like you have either a bad video connection, or an ESD issue while opening and handling the the internals of the phone. If all you did was change a power button the only possible causes would be your LCD/Digitizer connectors either are not on all the way, damaged, or something got pinched or zapped with electrostatic. Were you grounded and did you take the logic board out?
Answer to: iPhone Not Booting, Error 21 When Restoring, Not A Battery ProblemI had this same problem just last night trying to restore a customers 3GS. I had to revert the iOS to 5.1.1 first then run the restore and it brought the phone back to life. For some reason, it seems as if the phone has been unlocked or jailbroke in the past, that the new iOS messes up the phone and will not let it update correctly. I've also read that the 3GS phones have had issues updating to the new iOS. You may have tried this already but see if that works. Hope this helps.
