Answer to: Install SSD Disk on Mac Pro Early end 2009Agree with DenisCmdr. Yesterday, I installed a 250GB Samsung SSD into my Early 2009 Mac Pro, running Mavericks OSX, using the OWC Mount Pro 2.5 adapter. What an installation breeze. I put the old WD hard drive into an external enclosure, and installed the new SSD (in the Mount Pro 2.5). I then followed the latest Apple Knowledge base information about backing up and using the Migration Assistant Utility. OWC also has some good technical advice on doing reinstalling the OSX and the file transfer. https://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/f... http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718 http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5872?viewl...
Answer to: Can my MacBook Pro 13 use hard disk 7200rpm?I installed a 7200 rpm WD Scorpio Black 320GB hard drive into my MBP13 in January 2010. I have had no problems whatsoever with this upgrade. There has been a bit more heat evolved, but the aluminum unibody dissipates heat very effectively. No noted changes in noise, vibration, power consumption. Update (05/02/2010): Installed a Crucial 500GB SSD in my MBP13. They are much cheaper than when I put in the Scorpio. Additionally, much cooler, faster, longer battery life. YMMV.
