Answer to: Tea spill while clamshell shut. Liquid damage through left side ports.Hello Brooke, Just out of curiosity, did the you look at the Step-by-Step guide here? It looks like it's pretty straight forward to remove the video and logic boards. I recommend, as I live in a dry climate, having a anti-static mat to prevent damage to the circuit boards. You may be able to rinse the circuit boards, minus the batteries, using distilled water and then allowing them to air dry. Don't us a hair dryer as that would force water where you don't want it to go. Otherwise, you may just need to replace the video and/or logic boards. I hope this helps and good luck!
Answer to: I have just spilled red wine (lots) on my MacBookI don't know the type of red wine, but one thing not pointed out here is the sugar content. Depending on where inside it got it can heat enough to conduct and short out some of the components. Besides the main battery, there is usually a small battery on the motherboard for the date/time. That battery needs to be removed also. Next, if you feel comfortable doing it, after removing any batteries, remove the motherboard and rinse it with steam distilled water. Then dry it out by the above rice suggestion, or like a friend of mine did with his, put it on top of a hot water heater for about a week... Good luck!
