Hi everyone! My name is Callie Shannahan and I am from Colorado. I will be a junior this year at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and my major is Mechanical Engineering with a specification in Robotics. I chose ME Robotics because I love math and science and I knew I wanted to go into engineering. I am hoping to work with an astronautics company on rovers. Since my time at Embry-Riddle will most likely be extended due to a strenuous major, I plan to add a minor in Meteorology or Computer Science. With either minor I want to work on the coding for a rover, or other robot in my field of work.

The main repair experience I have is with cars. I have changed a tire, checked my oil, added more coolant, etc. I have also repaired broken appliances as needed but I have never done anything too complicated when it comes to repair work.

This project will help me build editing skills when it comes to my professional writing.

My biggest accomplishment so far would be through my time in 4-H and the leadership experience I gained from it. In 4-H I was on the state officer team in Colorado from 2016 to 2017. During this year I planned camps and conferences for up to 300 students. I ran workshops that ranged everywhere from leadership skill building, dance workshops, and community service. I learned how to speak in front of a large crowd and lead hundreds of students.

On campus I am currently involved in Greek Life. I am an initiated member of the Theta Zeta chapter of Alpha Xi Delta. I am also a member of the Society of Women Engineers and the Math Club.

Some of my hobbies outside of school include painting, hiking, rafting, embroidery, reading, hanging out with friends, and playing with my kitten!!

Fun fact! My kitten is named Minerva (as in Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter). I am the biggest Harry Potter nerd and if you are too we should play a game of trivia!
