My Problem
I bought an SSD replacement kit from Transcend (the JetDrive kit) for my 2012 MacBook Pro 13". The kit comes with all necessary tools (screwdrivers, etc.) and I was thinking that this would be a no-brainer. I was wrong. For some reason, one of the screws holding the lower case (the longer upper-right screw in ifixit's repair guide) refused to budge. I stupidly tried to force my way in, resulting in an almost-stripped screw (see photo). I've tried the rubber-band trick to no avail. I was going to use the superglue trick, but I thought that I would need a replacement screw after that. So, I decided to order a replacement screw set from ifixit. While I'm at it, I decided to order a Philips #00 screwdriver from ifixit, too.
My Fix
The package arrived a bit earlier than expected, and I was able to gather all stuff I thought I would need—including a superglue tube. However, I decided to give a final try to remove the screw without superglue, using the ifixit screwdriver. The risk, of course, would have been an even more damaged screw head. I held my breath and give it a try anyway.
And... what an anti-climax. Using ifixit's screwdriver, I could effortlessly remove the almost-stripped screw! It was just as if the screw was not even damaged in the first place!
So I removed the screw, proceeded to replace my HDD with the SSD, and replaced the almost stripped screw with one from the set I ordered. Voila! It was that simple!
My Advice
Using the right tool is indeed the key. I thought I was using the correct tool (it came with an SSD replacement kit, for crying out loud!). But apparently I was mistaken. My advice would be to buy tools from sites like ifixit because they are carefully designed for such repairs.

My Advice
There's clips on the inside battery pack that weren't mentioned when taking it apart, but I figured it out eventually.
My Problem
I wanted to extend the life of my mid-2009 MacBook Pro by upgrading to an SSD from the original HDD and I install a new battery(which solved my trackpad issues).

My Problem
One day my computer was acting up by freezing during a function which ultimately restarted my computer. During the boot I got a grey screen with a folder "?". I did a OS X recovery, pulled up the disk utility to find that my HDD was no physically there.
My Fix
The repair went well, the website provides a easy step by step process to remove the exact parts to replace what you need to repair. It was helpful that the website also provides what type of tools to use.
My Advice
I thought that either my HDD unmounted or the drive was corrupted. I reviewed numerous websites about similar postings about the same issue. I found that unbody 2012 edition macbook pro 13' had hard drive cable issues. Normally people will just replace the hard drive right away but I found that you should replace the hard drive cable first before replacing the drive. If the drive was corrupt you computer will not be able to boot up at all.
My Problem
Broken USB port on the motherboard needed replacing. I discovered that it was cheaper and easier to replace the entire motherboard as no micro soldering is involved.
My Fix
I placed the phone on a brightly colored towel (to keep screws from rolling, and protect both the phone and work surface). After reading the revised instructions (non-verified) several times, I took the phone apart step by step, being careful not to rip anything apart. All went exactly as described, and following the steps in reverse, resulted in a perfect fix. The hardest part was seeing the connection for the wi-fi cable. Reading glasses and a magnifier helped immensely. The phone now charges through the USB port, and the phone is back up to speed! I am very pleased with the results. I have a new phone for $70! Thank you IFixit.
My Advice
Read, and understand the instructions prior to ripping the phone apart. Wear your glasses, and use a magnifier if necessary to see what is where.
My Problem
My iPhone 4s light would not go off, it dimmed slightly. I did a soft and hard re-boot but nothing worked.
My Fix
Followed the repair guide but did not "remove the battery". Then made a diagram of where the screws went, removed the camera and cleaned all the contacts with alcohol. Replaced the camera and presto the light did not come on. Before reassambling I preformed a soft then hard re-boot and all was fine. Tested the flashlight, then the camera, the light worked perfectly again.
