What you need

This teardown is not a repair guide. To repair your Sega Genesis II, use our service manual.

    • Flip the system over

    • Remove the four outer screws (you may want a small cup to keep your screws in.)

  3. Sega Genesis II Teardown: step 3, image 1 of 1
    • Take plastic top off.

    • Remove the nine inner screws.

  5. Sega Genesis II Teardown: step 5, image 1 of 1
    • Remove metal piece.

  6. Sega Genesis II Teardown: step 6, image 1 of 1
    • You now have access to your circuit board. (If you wish to remove the circuit board, continue.)

    • Remove the two screws highlighted in picture to remove the circuit board.

  8. Sega Genesis II Teardown: step 8, image 1 of 1
    • Lift the black piece of plactic up.

  9. Sega Genesis II Teardown: step 9, image 1 of 1
    • Lift up the metal piece.

    • You now have access to the inside of the bottom plastic piece.

    • This is the circuit board.

  12. Sega Genesis II Teardown, Reassemble: step 12, image 1 of 1
    • Do the steps backwards to reassemble.
