Introduction
My Jelly Comb mouse stopped working because the buttons couldn't be pressed as the middle top part was misaligned, so I had to disassemble it to re-seat it.
What you need
-
-
• Gently lift and remove the thin black top plate. • It snaps off without tools. • Set it aside for reassembly.
-
-
-
• The middle top piece (with the buttons) has two plastic insets at the front. • These should slot into the bottom shell. • If misaligned, the buttons won’t click properly.
-
-
-
• Flip the mouse over. • Locate the rear glide pad — it hides a screw. • Use a razor blade or thin pry tool to carefully lift the pad. • Be gentle — the adhesive is strong and the pad is thin.
-
-
-
-
• Once exposed, remove the screw using a small Phillips screwdriver. • This unlocks the rear shell and allows access to the middle plate.
-
-
-
• Inside, there’s a loose plastic piece that transmits the middle button press (used for pairing) to the circuit board. • Note its position before removing the middle plate. • When reassembling, ensure it’s seated correctly — otherwise, the middle button won’t function.
-
-
-
• Gently lift the middle top piece. • Align the front insets with their slots in the bottom shell. • Press down from front to back until it clicks into place.
-
-
-
• Replace the rear screw. • Re-stick the glide pad (or leave it off if preferred). • Snap the thin black top plate back on.
