Ensure that the power to the car is off and then unscrew the battery cover on the underside of the car. Remove the batteries before continuing.

The same screwdriver can be used to now remove the screws that hold the shell to the base. Upon removal of these screws, the two components will separate but will still be connected by the antenna so use caution to avoid ripping the antenna out.

The circuit board present in the center of the car can be removed by unscrewing the single screw holding it down. Because of the wires connecting it to various parts of the car, it will not come completely free.

The back wheels and motor unit can now be removed from the base. This is done by unscrewing the screw at the rear of the car right next to the motor. Upon unscrewing, a plate will also come off that interfaces the screw and the motor unit. The unit will need to be slid backwards to fully unhook it from the base.

Removal of the components of the steering system starts with unscrewing the central screw behind the front wheels. After this there are four latches that must be undone; two on each side of the housing in between the front wheels. It is recommended to use either a flathead screwdriver or knife to get leverage.

Now for the motor, a similar latch system is holding the motor in the black casing at the rear of the car. Use the same tool to undo these latches and remove the black cover and release the motor.
