What you need

This teardown is not a repair guide. To repair your Afterglow Prismatic Wired Controller for Xbox One, use our service manual.

  1. Afterglow Prismatic Wired Controller for Xbox One Teardown, Remove clear casing: step 1, image 1 of 2 Afterglow Prismatic Wired Controller for Xbox One Teardown, Remove clear casing: step 1, image 2 of 2
    • Use a Phillips #0 Screwdriver to remove the seven Phillips head screws.

    • Separate two halves of clear casing by holding one side and lifting the other.

    The separation of the back plastic is unclear. Mine is stuck at the top part of the clear plastic. Feels like its going to break when i pull it.

    They &&^&^$^ glued 2 of the screws in so I cant even take them out

    • Use a Phillips #0 Screwdriver to remove the seven Phillips head screws.

    • Lift motors off of controller.

    • Lift circuit board off of controller.

  3.     • Use a Phillips #0 Screwdriver to remove the three screws.

    • Remove triggers by lifting them off the circuit board.

    • Lift the circuit board off of the controller.

  4.     • Remove the power and mute button by pulling them out. They will be loose at this point and may fall out by themselves.

how u clean it because i accident spill tea inside i cleaned it once it worked for a weak and it started to do it again how can i fix it please help me

You should use an earbud/”q-tip” dampened with isopropyl alcohol (otherwise known as IPA) to clean all areas affected by the spill.

How are the poitve and negative leads soldered to the board as I would like to swap wireless internals into controller and keep the lights

I am curious about the pair of programmable wheels on the underside, do they have any markings or part numbers on them that would help in sourcing replacements? I’ve been in touch with PDP and confirmed that my controller is past their warranty period, but it is only the underside wheels that have failed and I’m trying to find replacements.

Where would I buy the light strip as an individual replacement? My LEDs in it are old and pretty dim. (The light strip I am referring to is the thing that goes all around the edge of the inside of the controller. )
