What you need
-
-
Flip it over and unscrew all 11 large screws encircled with a phillips head screwdriver
-
Note: It is better to use a magnetic screwdriver just to make your work faster and easier.
-
-
-
Slowly lift off the cover to avoid stretching the wires and breaking plastic parts.
-
-
-
Gently place the cover side by side by rotating it 180 degrees so the PCB are closer to each other.
-
You can remove the Power In/USB board by unscrewing 2 small screws indicated by the circle.
-
Note: the screws used on the PCB are smaller than the other screws that are in this teardown so make sure to separate them to avoid accidentally using the wrong one later on.
-
-
-
-
Gently pull or wiggle slightly the connectors encircled off the pins on the circuit board.
-
this way you should be able to separate the covers from each other.
-
Note: Remove the connector very gently to avoid breaking the pins on the circuit board.
-
-
-
To remove the fan, unscrew all 3 large screws encircled using a phillips screwdriver.
-
then you should be able to pull the fan off.
-
-
-
To remove the top cover/exhaust/air out
-
unscrew 4 medium screws using the phillip screwdriver
-
Note: these screws are different size from the other screws you have taken so far so make sure to separate them to avoid using the wrong screws later on.
-
-
-
You should have already disconnected the connectors at step 5, but in case you have not, do not forget to disconnect this wire before removing the LED strip.
-
Note: the LED strip is not connected or glued to the case so it is safe to remove the LED strip easily but do it gently to avoid tearing or breaking the LED strip as it its fragile.
-
-
-
Unscrew these 2 small screws to remove the control board.
-
Be careful with the plastic adjuster (indicated by the arrow) because its pin is connected to the controller attached to the PCB, the pin is thin and could break or snap when forced. this part could also be difficult to return so be patient.
