My Problem
First of all my battery was long since overdue for its demise. While researching the repair I discovered one of my speakers was non-functional as well.
My Fix
It went very well. My only problem was with one of the internal screws (phillips head) which I wound up stripping. This required a bit larger of a screw driver tip and some moderate pressure to remove and replace. I fault the screw itself rather than the ifixit tools or advice.
My Advice
I suggest watching several videos on Youtube to watch others in action before taking on. This is especially helpful to see the difficulties to be encountered before hand, such as the adhesive on the back of the battery itself. It is quite strong and I also broke the plastic pull-tab from the factory, nevertheless, with careful prying at the edges with the provided tools, I was successful.
