My Problem
A few days ago, I lost the battle against gravity. Unfortunately, my brand new iPad 4 was the casualty. It fell flat on its screen which shattered into a million little pieces.
My Fix
Although it was a little bit daunting, the hardest part was getting the broken screen off because of all the little pieces being stuck to the gasket. But after that task, putting everything back together was surprisingly quick-going if not simple.
I was a little scared after I completed the repair as the iPad did not power up right away. After a simple internet search, I found that I had to do a hard reset of the machine. Now it works perfectly!
My Advice
1) Getting the broken screen off is the hardest and longest task. A lot of patience is required.
2) Make sure to do a hard reset after completing the repair because the iPad will not power up after a repair in the normal manner. Neither will it begin charging.
