My Problem
Sleep/Wake button started to become intermittent. Took repeated tries to lock the device, and I decided to take the plunge and order the part and attempt a repair.
My Fix
Pretty well frankly. Part works as advertised. This is not a simple repair. Keep track of your screws. A friend of mine in I.T. loaned me his iFixit super-duper repair kit, and it really helped.
BE CAREFUL REMOVING THE BATTERY. iFixit says to pry at the sucker. DO NOT. I don't know why they advise this. It'll break your phone. I'm glad I didn't do it this way. For people with batteries that are REALLY glued in, the pull tab and prying won't work.
I solved this problem by heating the device LIGHTLY with a hair dryer. This loosened up the glue juuust enough to SAFELY pry out the battery.
