My Problem
Maybe 3 or 4 months ago my very old G4 ibook stopped taking energy from it's power adapter because the prong part broke inside of it. This had happened before so I just pushed the prong part into the DC-in board and hoped it would still take energy like it did before. But it didn't work out that way. I did buy a new/generic power adapter but it wouldn't work because the DC-in Board was dead. I had no money to get it repaired at the apple store, my Applecare expired years ago, and at this time I can't afford to buy a new Macbook. I thought I would never use my computer again. Feeling desperate, I googled my problem and found Fixit.com through some Mac forums.
My Fix
The repair was very simple!! The step by step photos and directions helped a lot. I had no problems and the repair turned out great!!
My Advice
Before going to a repair place see if you can do it yourself. Especially if it's a simple repair you can do yourself. You could save a lot of money doing so.
If it's something that is beyond your knowledge, then seek help.
