iPhone 4 Vibrator Replacement

20 - 40 minutes

Moderate

My Problem

Wife's phone. After several years of use, the motor seems to have given out. Tried a few apps (ie. ivibe) first that turn on the motor manually, which only produced a weak vibration that gave out after 1/2 a minute.

My Fix

After reading the guide and reviews, it took all of 10 mins to complete the repair. A very easy fix.

My Advice

As the reviews say, it is not necessary to take out the battery to replace the motor. Be careful with the very small screws used to screw the motor in (in particular the one on the right (nearest the side of the case). They can be particularly troublesome to get back on.
