My Problem
Bought a used 2011 Mac mini and wanted more space & speed.
My Fix
Repair was very straightforward using the online instructions. Kit worked perfectly. Now I have two drives: one SSD and one large hard drive. Rolled my own Fusion drive and am very happy with the results.
My Advice
Install went very well. Two suggestions:
1. In the instructions, at step 36, there might need to be one additional step letting folks know that they should reassemble everything, more or less in reverse order.
2. When reassembling and inserting the top drive, make sure the alignment screws line up into the matching holes in the plastic bracket up against the front wall of the mini. It was a little tricky with mine. If the drive isn't aligned correctly, the other subsequent components won't fit properly.
Otherwise, very useful instructions, nice photos, and I have to say, you guys offer a tremendous service to those of us wanting to do our own repairs and upgrades.
