My Problem
The iPod was dead. It wouldn't even charge up.
My Fix
Followed the online instructions and installed a new battery. Charged it up (needed a Firewire connector), then connected ti iTunes. Restored the original OS, then synced my iTunes library. I now have my music back in the tractor, where I had a charger and music interface. All is good!!!
My Advice
It's a little tricky getting the cover off the first time, but I finally got it.
