bummer - need to understand "gently"

My Problem

I think I fixed the battery, but did not understand "gently" and tore the dock connector cable. I put on the suction cup, pulled and the phone went a foot apart. Ooops!

My Fix

everything went well. The phone was obviously worked on before since 1 screw was missing

My Advice

I think the splunger with the kit needs to have two different sizes. The splunger was a big large
