My Problem
I haven't turned the ipod on in about 5 years. It was not responsive to charging or any button presses.
My Fix
The ipod works like new after replacing the battery! Unfortunately I lost my 12v charger cable (the firewire one), and the regular USB iphone cables won't charge it. So I've got a couple more days wait until I can enjoy it again!
My Advice
The case is a major pain to open for the first time, I found a small glasses screwdriver was handy when trying to wedge the plastic opening tools into the case.
