My Problem

It was just that time! Age catches up with the battery usage and being in "intensive care unit" once too often was a good sign that the battery would soon die. I wanted to use that excuse to upgrade my phone (but my better half would not have any of that kind of talk). So a new battery was my only option. Looking at your video - I became empowered and decided to go that route.

My Fix

Cracking open the case was pretty OK. However, as I got into the "belly" I uttered a few "ooops" along the way, as my screws began rolling away or yanking cables too hard. But the guidelines were good. Funny, but I found reading "backwards" a bit frightening (or was it that I thought I might make an error). In the end I breathed a sigh of relief when I finally snapped the faceplate back in.

My Advice

All through the process I keep saying to myself "why do they have to make these things so small" - funny huh! And in addition, why not put the battery on top or find a way to access the battery from the back. Oh well. But here comes the kicker. A few weeks afterwards I find that my Home Button doesn't respond well. I have to press it a few times or touch the on-off button to get it to power up. Is this anything to do with changing the battery? Anyway, kudos to ifixit.
