10 seconds - 1 minute

Very easy

My Problem

The fan in my Macbook pro was creating a lot of noise. I needed to replace it.

My Fix

It went well. It was a little scary but I was successful.

My Advice

Step 12 of the instructions was not as specific as I would have liked. I ultimately figured out how to do it but I was worried that I might be causing harm to my system.

Step 12 states "Use a spudger to flip up the brown plastic flap securing the left ambient light sensor cable to the logic board." I had no idea what a spudger was and "brown plastic flap" is not very specific and the item is so small, it was hard to see how it might mechanically work. It would be great if you could provide a close up picture of this component.
