MacBook Pro 15" Core Duo Model A1150 Right Fan Replacement

30 minutes - 2 hours

Moderate

My Problem

Downloaded smcFanControl, and discovered why it was running hot. It always ran hot, figured early Dual Core Intel model was "hot" literally as well as figurally. But with smcFanControl I could see right fan was dead. Confirmed when removed right fan resisted spinning.

My Fix

Great. First got baggie for every step to hold screws and post-it notes explaining what was in each bag. Then followed instructions, printed out on color printer. I did this tech work at school, where I was Technology Teacher Leader, with MS in Instructional Technology Specialist. But was one stoke and a catastrophic auto accident ago in June & Sept. of '09. Guess I'm getting it back.

My Advice

Fitit: even the brain damaged can depend on them. Probably why I forgot to take pictures. Sorry. Now running at 50C @ 1500 RPM, sync'ed. Thanks, guys and gals.
