My Problem
it was actually an upgrade. hardest part was cloning the drive, which took overnight. actual swap of the drive took maybe 15 minutes, and it worked perfectly.
My Fix
I can't believe it went so smoothly. With all the trouble I've had repairing older portable consoles and last few years I was expecting the worst. least amount I've worked on a portable with the most amount of gain.
My Advice
take your micro SD card out BEFORE you dare take the rear cover off
